On April 13, 2018, the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Nations, Ms. M.Moldoisaeva, met with representatives of the media and the expert community of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in the Permanent Mission of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN in New York during which they got acquainted with the activities of the Permanent Mission of Kyrgyzstan to the UN, the initiatives and priorities of the Central Asian countries in the UN, including issues of ensuring security and regional cooperation of the countries of Central Asia and Afghanistan, UN reform, peace building and prevention of conflicts, UN peacekeeping missions, etc.

During the meeting, representatives of the media and the expert community had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss a number of topical issues on the UN agenda, expressing the need to further strengthen joint cooperation among the countries of Central Asia, including by drawing the attention of the international community to those positive processes and dynamics in the relationship between the countries of Central Asia.

The visit of representatives of the media and expert community of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took place on the initiative of Kazakhstan and UNDP in order to provide the media and experts from Central Asia with information about the activities of the UN and to get an opportunity to highlight the work of the Central Asian delegations in the UN and its key bodies.
