On February 16, 2019, on the margins of the Munich Conference, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Chingiz Aidarbekov, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mamedyarov.

The parties in a constructive manner discussed promising areas of bilateral cooperation, noted the desire to strengthen the political dialogue, including the exchange of bilateral visits.

Following the meeting, agreements were reached on enhancing interstate political, economic, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation, in particular, by holding a regular meeting of the joint Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani commission on economic and humanitarian cooperation.

The parties also exchanged views on topical issues of the international and regional agenda, and also reaffirmed their mutual desire to further develop multi-faceted bilateral cooperation.
