On October 11, 2023, in the Presidential palace in Helsinki, the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Finland with residence in Berlin Mr. Omurbek Tekebaev presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Finland Mr. Sauli Niinistö.

After the solemn ceremony of presenting credentials, Ambassador Mr. Omurbek Tekebaev met with the President of Finland Mr. Sauli Niinistö, where current issues of a bilateral nature were discussed. The parties exchanged views on the prospects for strengthening cooperation in such areas as trade, economics, education, tourism and culture.

During the meeting, Ambassador Mr. Omurbek Tekebaev also noted the historical connection between Kyrgyzstan and Finland, talking about the meeting of Gustav Mannerheim, the legendary Finnish commander, future President of Finland (1944 -1946), and the “Alai Queen” Kurmanzhan Datka in 1906, the history of which remains an important part of the overall cultural heritage. Noting the historical ties between the two countries, Ambassador Mr. Omurbek Tekebaev emphasized the importance of maintaining and developing these relations.

President Mr. Sauli Niinistö expressed gratitude for Kyrgyzstan's initiatives to develop diplomatic relations and expressed confidence in the further strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Ambassador Mr. Omurbek Tekebaev and President Mr. Sauli Niinistö emphasized the importance of further development of bilateral political and economic cooperation between the countries to achieve mutual goals and interests.
