The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev met with the Member of the State Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi

On June 7, 2022, in Nur-Sultan, as part of the 3rd meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the "Central Asia - China" format, a talks was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev and the Member of the State Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi.

At this meeting the Ministers discussed a wide range of issues of Kyrgyz-Chinese relations. The parties noted the high level of political cooperation, interaction in ensuring security and stability in Central Asia.

The importance of further strengthening trade and economic relations between Kyrgyzstan and China was especially emphasized.

The importance of intensifying joint work on the implementation of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway construction project was mutually noted.

The ministers also discussed the promotion of projects for the reconstruction of roads in the city of Bishkek and the improvement of the irrigation system of Kyrgyzstan at the expense of grant funds from the Government of the PRC.

The parties agreed to make efforts to increase the volume of trade and cargo traffic at checkpoints on the Kyrgyz-Chinese state border.

The Chinese side noted the interest in importing environmentally friendly agricultural products from Kyrgyzstan.

The parties also discussed the issues of resuming flights between the two countries and lifting restrictions on mutual travel of citizens.

The meeting was held in a warm, friendly atmosphere. Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeenbek Kulubaev invited Member of the State Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi to visit Kyrgyzstan.
