The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbek Kulubaev took part in the regular meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the SCO member states in Tashkent

On July 29, 2022, in Tashkent, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbek Kulubaev took part in the regular meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the SCO member states, during which the heads of delegations discussed the preparation of the substantive part of the upcoming meeting of the Council of Heads of SCO Member States and issues of expansion of the Organization, in particular, the procedure for admission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to full-fledged SCO members. In addition, the sides exchanged views on topical regional and international issues.

In his speech , the Head of the Foreign Ministry of the Kyrgyz Republic Zh .Kulubaev outlined the need to implement the Decision of the Heads of the SCO member states on improving the mechanism for countering the challenges and threats to the security of the SCO member states, taking into account the relevant initiatives of all SCO countries, including the initiative of the Kyrgyz Republic to establish a Center for combating international organized crime in Bishkek.

In order to create favorable conditions and increase the transit potential of the region, the Kyrgyz side noted the importance of intensifying cooperation between the SCO member states on the basis of previously adopted documents in this area. In this context, Foreign Minister Zh.Kulubaev informed that in July of this year, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic S.N.Zhaparov signed a decree "On the creation of a comprehensive system for the introduction of digital green transit corridors through the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic to third countries."

He stressed that the Kyrgyz Republic attaches great importance to the deepening of comprehensive cooperation within the SCO and will continue to make a feasible contribution to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas defined in the charter documents of the Organization.

In addition, Minister Zh.Kulubaev asked the partners to support the international initiatives of the Kyrgyz Republic, including the candidacy of Kyrgyzstan to the UN Human Rights Council for the period 2023-2025.

Within the framework of the meeting, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M.Mirziyoyev met with the heads of delegations of the SCO member states. The head of Uzbekistan outlined priority areas of activity within the framework of his chairmanship, in particular, noted that more than 70 events were organized, and also drew attention to the need to deepen multilateral cooperation between the SCO member states in modern conditions and implement further tasks for the development of the Organization.

Following the meeting, the parties signed a number of decisions of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the SCO member states on the further development of cooperation within the Organization.

In addition, within the framework of the event, Minister Zh.Kulubaev held a number of bilateral meetings.
