To participate in the early presidential elections scheduled for January 10, 2021, in accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic, on November 14, 2020, Acting President, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov officially resigned his powers as Head of State, and also suspended the powers of the Prime Minister.

In accordance with the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, in the event of early termination of his powers by the President, until the election of a new President, his powers are performed by the Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh (Speaker of the Parliament). In addition, in accordance with article 19 of the constitutional Law "On the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic", during the absence of the Prime Minister, his duties are performed by the First Vice Prime Minister.

Thus, the duties of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic are transferred to the Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh, Talant Mamytov, and duties of the Prime Minister, to the First Vice Prime Minister, Artem Novikov.

The Kyrgyz Republic reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the implementation of foreign policy and strict adherence to all its international obligations within the framework of previously reached bilateral and multilateral agreements.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic declares that the Kyrgyz Republic continues the processes of establishing stability, promoting democratic transformations, strengthening the rule of law, protecting and promoting human rights. The Kyrgyz Republic will continue to pursue a course towards achieving safe and stable development of the state.
