On October 1, 2021, a business forum "Doing business in Kyrgyzstan" was held in Mumbai, organized by the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in cooperation with the World Trade Center of Mumbai, the All India Association of Industrialists and the Indian Chamber of International Business.

The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to India Asein Isaev, President of the World Trade Center Mumbai Vijay Kalantri, leadership of the All India Association of Industrialists and the Indian Chamber of International Business, as well as representatives of a number of leading companies in various sectors of the economy of Mumbai and the state of Maharashtra (the total number of participants was more than 60 people).

Ambassador A. Isaev in his speech dwelt in detail on the possibilities of doing business for foreign businessmen and especially emphasized the measures taken by the country's leadership to create favorable working conditions. In addition, presentations on investment and tourism opportunities of the Kyrgyz Republic were presented.

The participants of the business forum expressed great interest in the development of trade and economic cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic. In this regard, a separate session for questions and answers was organized, as well as a number of meetings with representatives of the business community of Mumbai.

During the event, the parties noted that there are huge undiscovered possibilities between the city of Mumbai and the Kyrgyz Republic, and such bilateral events play a very important role in strengthening and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation. The parties expressed that similar commercial consultations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the city of Mumbai should take place on a regular basis. The representatives of the business environment emphasized that the city of Mumbai is the main financial and industrial city of India and a major hub of international communications, as well as the largest seaport in the west of India. In this regard, the pace of life is very high and all decisions, including those on the establishment and strengthening of bilateral cooperation and trade, are made very quickly.

Chairman of the World Trade Center in Mumbai V. Kalantri noted that the main goal of the event is to strengthen the Kyrgyz-Indian bilateral cooperation in various fields. He noted that it is necessary to use all the possibilities to increase the trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and India.

President of the Indian Association of International Business M. Singh stressed that the possibilities of cooperation with Kyrgyzstan aroused wide interest among the business circles of Mumbai. In this regard, an agreement was reached on holding a number of targeted Kyrgyz-Indian bilateral events in different sectors of the economy that have mutual interest.

As a result of the event and the negotiations held, an agreement was reached on organizing a visit of a business delegation from Mumbai to the Kyrgyz Republic in November 2021 to establish cooperation in such areas as: the textile industry, mining. use of alternative types of energy, export / import of precious stones and gold, etc.
