The Kyrgyz Republic participates in the Suraj Kund Mela international fair

From February 2 to 18, 2024 in Faridabad, Haryana, a delegation from the Kyrgyz Republic takes part in the international festival-fair of traditional crafts “Surajkund Mela”.

More than 20 foreign countries and Indian states are participating in the event. This year the partners of the festival are Tanzania and the state of Gujarat of India.

The Kyrgyz Republic is represented by artisans from a number of regions of our country and creative groups “Aruuke” from Osh and “Nariste-Kyzgaldak” from Naryn, with a total number of 25 people.

The Kyrgyz pavilion presents Kyrgyz white honey, dried fruits, handicrafts made from wool, silk, as well as various souvenirs.

Kyrgyz national dances, songs and melodies are performed daily at the main festival site and at the parade of participants in the morning and evening.

For reference: Surajkund Mela is a fair of handicrafts from Indian states and foreign countries, held regularly since 1981 by the Department of Tourism of the Government of Haryana with the assistance of the ministries of the central Government (tourism, textiles, foreign affairs and culture). This year the exhibition is being held for the 37th time.
