With the assistance of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Korea, on October 20, 2023, the Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic
Mr. T. Ibraev met with the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Korea
Mrs. Han Wha-Jin.

During the meeting, Mr. T. Ibraev informed the Korean side about the country's energy potential, including in the field of renewable energy sources, and about the ongoing reforms in the energy sector.

The Korean side, in turn, expressed interest in cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources and modernization of hydroelectric power plants. She also expressed readiness to provide consulting and technological assistance in solving the smog problem in Bishkek.

Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding and cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources was signed between the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea.
