President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Shentop

President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov, on June 10 of 2021,  in Ankara met with the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Shentop.

Issues of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, development of inter-parliamentary interaction were discussed.

The head of state noted with satisfaction the fruitfulness of the talks with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, following which a number of agreements were reached, in the implementation of which the support of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey is important.

Sadyr Zhaparov highly appreciated the level of inter-parliamentary cooperation, which makes a significant contribution to building trust between countries.

The President also spoke positively about the interaction within the framework of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TurkPA).

According to Sadyr Zhaparov, the TurkPA should become a fundamental institution that will create a common space for improving cooperation between the Turkic states.

Referring to trade and economic relations, the Head of State stressed the need to expand Kyrgyz products on the Turkish market, cooperation in the industrial sector, and the creation of joint ventures in Kyrgyzstan.

President Sadyr Zhaparov also expressed interest in implementing projects in the agricultural, textile, mining and hydropower industries.

Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Shentop congratulated Sadyr aparov on the forthcoming 30th anniversary of Independence of the Kyrgyz Republic and wished the country further prosperity.

He expressed confidence that the talks between the leaders of the two countries would help strengthen the Kyrgyz-Turkish strategic partnership, including within the framework of the agreements reached the day before.

Mustafa Shentop expressed condolences to the relatives of those killed during the events on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border in Batken region and wished a speedy recovery to the victims.

The Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly stressed that Turkey and Kyrgyzstan are close, kindred countries, which are united by a common culture and language.

The two states support bilateral cooperation in all areas, including between parliaments.

He noted the interest of the Turkish side in improving trade and economic cooperation, increasing trade between the two countries to $1 billion, given the existing potential.

In addition, the Turkish side intends to further develop and promote joint projects in the field of education, culture, healthcare, including the planned official opening of the Bishkek State Hospital of Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship - one of the largest projects between the two countries in the field of healthcare.
