An opening ceremony of a photo exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of Kyrgyzstan was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey

In order to promote Kyrgyzstan, its historical, cultural values and tourism on  July 6, 2021, there was held an opening ceremony of a photo exhibition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of Kyrgyzstan, organized by the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ankara with support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey in the Ministry building.

The exhibition featured 61 paintings depicting historical sights, landscapes of the country, national sports that reflect the ancient history, rich culture, picturesque nature and traditional life of Kyrgyzstan.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Yavuz Selim Kıran, members of the Turkish Parliament, Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary accredited in Ankara, employees of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of international and public organizations, business structures, media as well as the Kyrgyz diaspora living in Turkey.

Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev drew attention to the fact that Kyrgyz people and country have more than 2,300 years of history. He emphasized that the year 2021 marks 30 years of the Independence of Kyrgyzstan and establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.

He also noted that Kyrgyzstan intends to consistently promote democratic reforms, strengthen the rule of law, protection and promotion of human rights, and remains fully committed to all its international obligations and strictly complies with all previously signed bilateral and multilateral agreements.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yavuz Selim Kıran, speaking at the opening ceremony, noted that Turkey was the first country to recognize the independence of Kyrgyzstan. He stressed the importance of further strengthening the existing close cooperation between the countries in all areas. He expressed the hope for an early achievement of the goal of increasing trade with Kyrgyzstan to $ 1 billion, making joint efforts. He added that despite the distance between the countries of more than 3 thousand km, through exhibited photo, guests could touch the rich history and culture of Kyrgyzstan.

The photo exhibition at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs will last until July 13, 2021. Same photo exhibition was previously opened in the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Turkey with participation of heads of two states during the official visit of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to Turkey and in the Turkish parliament with participation of the Vice Speaker.
