On 30 August 2021, as part of the celebration of the 30^th anniversary of Independence and in order to promote Kyrgyzstan, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Turkey together with the municipality of Uchisar in the province of Nevshehir, launched a hot air balloon with the flag of the Kyrgyz Republic, after which the flag was hung on the historic Uchhisar fortress in Cappadocia, which is one of the most famous tourist regions of Turkey. Since August 30 is Turkey's Victory Day, the Turkish flag floated on the air balloon too.

 

Note: Cappadocia is famous for its balloons, which are launched to see the natural beauty from above. This region has beautiful natural hills formed from volcanic lavas. Cappadocia was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1985.

Uchisar is one of the unique rocky mountains in the historical region of Cappadocia. During the Roman Empire, people carved houses, shelters and places of worship on the slopes of the Uchisar fortress and used it to defend themselves against the enemy. This castle was used during the reign of the Seljuk Turks in the 12th and 14th centuries too.
