Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov met  with a delegation of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchange of Turkey (TOBB), headed by Vice President Selcuk Ozturk.

During the event, the sides discussed issues of trade and economic cooperation followed by presentation of a number of investment projects prepared by the Ministry.

Chairman Akylbek Zhaparov noted the importance and great potential of economic cooperation between the two countries.

"We believe it is time to take decisive steps to remove technical barriers to mutual trade. We are now embarking on major reforms in the economy and public administration. Particular attention is paid to projects in areas such as industry, agriculture, textile industry, hydropower," said the chairman of the Cabinet.

Further, Zhaparov informed the participants of the meeting about the potential of gold mining in the republic.

"We are also interested in opening an industrial zone in the Kyrgyz Republic, where factories and plants are located in the same area. The Cabinet of Ministers will provide all necessary support to implement this proposal,” Akylbek Zhaparov added.
