On May 14, 2022, Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev met with Mayor of Malatya Selahattin Gurkan.

During the meeting, Ambassador Omuraliev noted the need for closer cooperation between the sister cities of Batken and Malatya. Considering the fact that about 70% of Turkish apricot production is concentrated in the Malatya region, which ranking 2nd in the world in the export of apricots, Ambassador expressed a request to provide practical assistance with new technologies for growing and processing fruit, as well as to assist in promoting the export of Batken apricot.

In conclusion, Ambassador Omuraliev expressed gratitude for the assistance provided to ethnic Kyrgyz living in the city, and taking into account that recently the number of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic arriving for work and education has been increasing, he expressed a request to Mayor Gurkan to assist in their comfortable stay in the city.
