On July 24 2019 the Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Nations Ms. Mirgul Moldoisaeva met with the United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Head of the UN Counter-Terrorism Office Mr. Vladimir Voronkov.

During the meeting, an exchange of views on the existing cooperation between Kyrgyzstan with the UN Counter-Terrorism Office took place, in particular, the implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy in the context of the Central Asian region, including measures to strengthen the capacity of States to prevent and combat terrorism and to strengthen the role of the United Nations system in this field.

The parties discussed planned activities in this field that will include projects on cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and United Nations entities dealing with counter-terrorism issues and providing technical assistance to Central Asian states in order to facilitate the implementation of international conventions and protocols related to with the prevention and combating of terrorism.
