On April 24, 2018, at the UN headquarter, at the initiative of the Permanent Mission of Kazakhstan to the United Nations and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, a meeting was held on the Arria formula on "Religious leaders for a Secure World", with the participation of governments, civil society and religious leaders. During the meeting, the issues of ensuring peace, security and justice, promoting dialogue between religions, cultures and civilizations, deepening and strengthening mutual understanding and respect between religious communities, developing a culture of tolerance and mutual respect as opposed to the ideology of hatred and extremism were discussed.

In her speech, the Permanent Representative of Kyrgyzstan to the UN, Mirgul Moldoisaeva, stated that the world is not currently a peaceful place - there are aggravated conflicts around the world on ethnic and religious grounds, one of the most dangerous real challenges was the radical forces propagandizing the ideas of terrorism and extremism, which reject the humanistic principles of religion, renounce the traditions of peace and tolerance. In this connection, all of us need unifying factors, instead of political ideas that separate peoples according to religious beliefs or language. It was noted that Kyrgyzstan initiated a number of international projects and events, including an international conference on "Islam in a Modern Secular State", which was held in Bishkek on September 28-29, 2017 and a unique project - the World Games of Nomads, which received international recognition from the UN General Assembly. All these initiatives are the contribution of the Kyrgyz Republic to the preservation of peace, stability, promotion of dialogue between religions, cultures and civilizations, development and popularization of common heritage, strengthening and expanding cooperation between states.
