President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Zheenbekov visited New York on 24-26 October 2018 in order to participate in General Debate of 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly.

On 24 September 2018 during his visit the Head of State met with Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the UN, and discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the Organization.

At the same day President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Zheenbekov opened the photo exhibition dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Chyngyz Aitmatov at the Dag Hammarskjöld Library, and mentioned that it was the first time when such event was taken place at the Library. Also the Head of State met with representatives of Kyrgyz community in New York.

Also the Head of State visited the office of Permanent Mission of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN and saw working conditions of the Mission's employees.

On 25 September 2018 the Head of State took part in the opening of the General Debate of 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly, and in his statement mentioned that the Kyrgyz Republic contributed to the UN common cause to promote peace, global security and sustainable development.
