President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov today, on August 3, received Dr. Naif Falah Al-Hajraf, Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC).

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on priority areas of cooperation, including on strengthening political, socio-economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

The head of state expressed hope that the first visit to the country of Dr. Naif Falah Al-Hajraf would lay a good foundation and give a great impetus to cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

The President noted that the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and the Arab countries of the Gulf are connected by historical and spiritual ties of friendship, therefore, strengthening cooperation with the Arab countries of the Gulf is one of the priorities of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy.

He expressed Kyrgyzstan's readiness to further strengthen cooperation with the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

President Sadyr Zhaparov congratulated on the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf and expressed a hope that this agreement would become a solid basis for a fruitful discussion of political, trade, economic and cultural issues between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Arab States of the Gulf, and ensuring close cooperation.

In turn, Dr. Naif Falah Al-Hajraf, Secretary General of the GCC, thanked for the warm welcome and conveyed the greetings of the leaders of the Arab countries of the Gulf.

He noted that the purpose of his visit is to deepen cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab countries of the Gulf.

Speaking about the signed Memorandum of Understanding, Dr. Naif Falah Al-Hajraf stressed that this document will be an impetus for further expansion of interaction between Kyrgyzstan and the Council in all areas and issues on the agenda.
