On November 7, 2022, the first bilateral political consultations between the foreign ministries were held in Riyadh at the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Kyrgyz delegation was headed by H.E. Azizbek Madmarov, Deputy Minister, the Saudi delegation was headed by H.E. Saud Alsatty, Deputy Minister for Political Affairs.

The parties noted with satisfaction the existing high level of bilateral relations, and discussed in detail a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda. The parties noted further steps to develop cooperation and strengthen political dialogue by organizing mutual visits at various levels.

Special attention was paid to the organization of the official visit of H.E. S.Zhaparov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. H.E. A.Madmarov stressed that this visit is important and will give a positive impetus to the Kyrgyz-Saudi relations.

The parties also noted the need to strengthen trade and economic ties and promote mutually beneficial investment projects in the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of tourism, hydropower, renewable energy, agriculture and subsoil use. At the same time, H.E. Saud Al-Sati reported on the interest of Saudi investors in establishing close contacts with the Kyrgyz side and promoting joint ideas.

The Saudi side expressed its readiness to continue cooperation on the implementation of social projects and charitable events in Kyrgyz Republic through the Saudi Fund for Development and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Centre.

The parties agreed to direct joint efforts for the successful holding of the Kyrgyz-Saudi business forum in Bishkek, meetings of the Joint Business Council, the early opening of direct regular flights between the two countries and the simplification of visa requirements for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic to enter the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. H.E. A.Madmarov also stressed that the upcoming meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission will be an additional impetus for bilateral relations.

In addition, the parties agreed to speed up the coordination of draft bilateral documents and prepare for signing in the framework of upcoming events at the highest level, as well as continue work within international organizations (UN, OIC, SCO).

The parties agreed to maintain close contact and exchange the necessary information.
