On May 25, 2023, in Riyadh, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ulukbek Maripov met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia for public diplomacy, Ms. Sara Al-Sayed.

At the meeting, the parties noted with satisfaction the high level and growing dynamics of Kyrgyz-Saudi relations both in bilateral and multilateral formats, as well as the intensification of bilateral events at various levels of interaction.

Deputy Minister S.Al-Sayed acquainted Ambassador U.Maripov with the activities and plans of the structural unit of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for public diplomacy, which oversees cultural diplomacy, work with the media, inter-parliamentary cooperation, education, as well as inter-religious dialogue.

Touching upon the aspects of humanitarian cooperation, the parties expressed their readiness for close cooperation in the implementation of a number of cultural projects and programs. In particular, to expand the legal framework, the mutual organization of cultural days in two countries, as well as the development of educational and information cooperation.

Attaching importance to the further development of inter-parliamentary cooperation, the parties also discussed the organization of mutual visits of the Kyrgyz-Saudi parliamentary friendship groups.

In addition, the parties exchanged views on the importance of promoting various components of public diplomacy as one of the important intruments in building trust and mutual understanding between peoples.

In conclusion, the parties agreed to maintain constant contact and further strengthen bilateral ties.
