On November 16, 2018 at the concert hall Akasaka, Tokyo on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the national writer Chyngyz Aitmatov was held a concert dedicated to the memory of the great writer. This concert was held by TURKSOY on the initiative of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Japan.

The event was attended by Advisor of the Head of the Office of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic S.Raev, Secretary General of TURKSOY D.Kaseinov, Secretary General of the CCTS B.Amreyev, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Japan H.E. G.Ismailzade, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Japan H.E. E.Baudarbek-Kozhatayev, permanent representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to TURKSOY K.Kuluev, professor at Ttsukuba University Matsushita Rei, representatives of the diplomatic corps with families, representatives of the Japanese creative intelligentsia, citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic studying in Japan.

At the beginning of the event, the audience was presented a short film about Chyngyz Aitmatov.

In his welcoming speech, Advisor of the Head of the Office of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic S.Raev noted that the phenomenon of Aitmatov had awakened humanistic beginnings in human nature. He managed to create his own spiritual galaxy, the main pivot of which is the great goal - to strive to protect human identity from the "universalization". He, by his own example, having created the unique spiritual empire of “Aitmatov”, proved that a single person can become a thinker of a global scale.

The program includes music and dances of the peoples of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Bashkortostan, Tyva, Khakassia, Gagauzia and Sakha (Yakutia).

The Japanese spectator was able to feel the breadth and depth of the oeuvre of the Turkic peoples. Also, as part of the concert, an exhibition of photographs of Chyngyz Aitmatov was held.
