In connection with the dissemination in the media and social networks of a video about the detention of a Kyrgyzstani for allegedly participating in mass riots that occurred in the Republic of Kazakhstan, today, January 9, 2022, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kyrgyz Republic  Mr. R.Zhoshybaev was invited to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. A.Madmarov handed to the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. R.Zhoshybaev a note regarding the detention of citizen Mr. V.Ruzakhunov, with an appeal to grant consular access to the detained Mr. V.Ruzakhunov and release him as soon as possible.

For his part, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan said that the concerns of the Kyrgyz side will be promptly brought to the attention of the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and promised to provide more detailed information in the very near future. He assured that in the current difficult situation, the competent authorities of Kazakhstan will conduct a thorough investigation to clarify all the circumstances and causes of what happened.

In addition, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. N.Niyazaliev held telephone conversations with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. M.Syzdykov and Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. R. Zhoshybaev, during which he expressed the extreme concern of the Kyrgyz side about the situation related to the Kyrgyz citizen. Mr. N.Niyazaliev called on the Kazakh side to publish verified and reliable information regarding the participation of foreign citizens in the latest events in the Republic of Kazakhstan. He also noted the need to inform the country's diplomatic missions in a timely manner about the detentions of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in accordance with the requirements of international and bilateral documents in the field of consular relations.

In addition, the Director of the Department of Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic met with V. Ruzakhunov's relatives, during which he informed them about the measures being taken to clarify all the circumstances and assured that the Ministry would take all possible measures to release this citizen as soon as possible.

As part of the provision of consular and legal assistance to citizens of Kyrgyzstan abroad, the Ministry takes all measures to provide comprehensive assistance to every citizen of Kyrgyzstan located on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At the same time, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. R.Kazakbaev maintains constant direct communication with the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and keeps under constant special control the issue of the stay of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic who live and carry out their work on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
