From December 1, 2021, a requirement for a mandatory PCR test is introduced at the entrance to the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic announced the implementation of measures aimed at preventing the spread of a new strain of coronavirus infection ("omicron") on the territory of the country, from December 1, 2021.  

In order to enter the Kyrgyz Republic, foreign citizens and Kyrgyzstanis will be required to pass and carry a negative PCR test for coronavirus infection before arriving in the country, regardless of the vaccination status.

Based on the information about the new strain, in order to take measures to prevent importation and its further spread, the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic will monitor the epidemiological situation in countries where foci of infection with the new strain "omicron" are detected in order to transmit a list of such countries to the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic. Citizens of such countries will be banned from entering the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic. 

Ministries and departments are instructed to be fully prepared in case of complications of the epidemiological situation in the republic associated with the new COVID-19 strain. 

Earlier, an emergency consultation was held with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as with the World Health Organization on the new COVID-19 strain.
