Message from President Sadyr Zhaparov on the occasion of the International Day of Migrants

1449

"Dear compatriots!

I want to turn to To you with words of gratitude and recognition for your hard work. Today you are forced to live and work far from your homeland, in a foreign land, overcoming the longing for the Motherland and the pain of separation from your relatives in order to earn them and yourself a living. I know what it's like to be a migrant and endure the hardships and hardships of such a life away from home. After all , it is not for nothing that people have said since ancient times: "Even the dust of the native land is like golden sand." That is why, after my election as President, I was among the first to sign a decree "On taking measures aimed at improving the migration situation." At the same time, I set the task for the Cabinet of Ministers to create jobs in Kyrgyzstan that will provide a decent income.

We simply have to keep skilled professionals at home. It is known that in any field, it is the masters of their craft who make the greatest contribution to its development and prosperity. Such people, in particular, cool education and health professionals should live and work with dignity in their homeland, giving deep knowledge to future generations and taking care of the health of our people. At the same time, today, when priority is given to the development of entrepreneurship, and without further ado, the importance of the role played by qualified engineering personnel — technicians, power engineers, builders, light industry workers and many other professional personnel is clear.

That is why the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration was formed, and special importance is attached to migration issues. Only in their interrelation will we be able to achieve tangible results.

Currently, we are paying special attention to the revival of the industry, several projects have already been prepared. For example, production is being resumed at the Kara-Balta Carpet Factory. It is planned to build industrial and machine-tractor parks, a cotton-textile cluster and a factory, several cement plants and other projects in the coming years, the implementation of which will require the involvement of competent, experienced specialists capable of working with modern technologies. Of course, all this means creating new jobs for Kyrgyzstanis.

However, we have to solve another serious problem, this is the protection of the rights and interests of migrant workers. We should not lose sight of this important issue. Regularization of migration routes, ensuring the safety and health of migrants and their families should become the main task of the state. In order for Kyrgyzstanis to have the opportunity to realize their potential in foreign labor markets, the task of their diversification, that is, diverse development in the aggregate, is ahead.

Dear compatriots, far and near!

Setting the above goals for ourselves, we are at the same time making efforts so that you can return to your homeland and ensure the protection of the rights of compatriots who work outside Kyrgyzstan.

I wish you and your families good health, the implementation of the most ambitious plans, well-being and prosperity to our Fatherland!".
