The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev and the Ambassador of Japan to the Kyrgyz Republic Shigeki Maeda exchanged congratulatory messages on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations

On January 26, 2022, during the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Kyrgyzstan Shigeki Maeda, congratulatory messages were exchanged on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and Japan. 

On the day of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev received a message from the Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida addressed to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov and, in turn, conveyed a congratulatory message from the Head of State to the Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida. 

At the meeting, the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic also conveyed a congratulatory message from the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Talant Mamytov to the President of the House of Councilors of the Parliament of Japan, Ms. Santo Akiko, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Japan, Hiroyuki Hosoda. In addition, the parties exchanged congratulatory messages at the level of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and Japan. 

Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev and the Ambassador of Japan Shigeki Maeda noted with satisfaction the successes achieved over three decades in the development of Kyrgyz-Japanese cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. They emphasized the importance and significance of interaction in multilateral formats, in particular within the framework of the «Central Asia + Japan Dialogue». 

Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev especially highlighted the support of the Government of Japan in the socio-economic development of our country since the independence of Kyrgyzstan, including through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). 

The interest in further joint implementation of infrastructure projects, expansion of the «One Village - One Product» project, which contributes to the development of the regions of Kyrgyzstan, as well as interaction in the field of education and development of the country's human resources was emphasized. 

The head of the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan expressed confidence in further close work on the entire range of issues of mutual interest, in particular in building up cooperation between the two countries in the field of economy, trade, investment and industry. 

In his turn, the Ambassador of Japan Shigeki Maeda noted the efforts of the Kyrgyz Republic over the years of independence in strengthening the basic fundamental values, such as freedom of speech, democracy and human rights. He expressed the intention of the Japanese side to continue assisting in economic and social reforms in the Kyrgyz Republic. 

In order to develop economic relations and explore the opportunities of Kyrgyzstan in the IT field, the Japanese Ambassador announced that the Japan Association for Trade with Russia and the Newly Independent States (ROTOBO) and the Japan External Trade Development Organization (JETRO) will held this year in February and March seminars in the field of information technologies. 

The parties also exchanged views on the organization of high-level visits, as well as economic, scientific, cultural and humanitarian events in the anniversary year for Kyrgyzstan and Japan. 

At the end of the conversation, the parties confirmed their common desire to further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation on key issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda of Kyrgyz-Japanese relations.
