President Sooronbai Zheenbekov got acquainted with the state of medical facilities in Issyk-Kul region

President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov today, on August 3, got acquainted with the state of medical facilities in Issyk-Kul region in the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection.

The Head of State inspected the building of the Issyk-Kul regional united hospital located in Karakol, talked with the hospital staff.

To date, 245 beds have been organized here for the treatment of patients with coronavirus infection and community-acquired pneumonia.

In addition, the regional hospital has two buildings in need of major reconstruction, on the basis of which there is an opportunity to organize an additional 175 beds. For these purposes, about 20 million soms were required.

President Sooronbai Zhenbekov recalled that the Government was recommended to revise abandoned buildings in the regions for reconstruction and re-profiling for modern hospitals.

Work in this direction has already begun. And the building of this hospital is included in the list of those facilities that will be repaired and redesigned according to current requirements before the onset of the autumn-winter period.

The Head of State inquired about the supply of drugs, the doctors said that earlier the drugs were delivered intermittently, but at the moment the supplies were adjusted.

In a conversation with medical personnel, President Sooronbai Zheenbekov once again expressed his gratitude to them for their selfless work in such a difficult time for the country.

He assured that all issues of social protection of doctors are under control. He also noted that in all regions, including the Issyk-Kul region, the construction of complex hospitals will begin, which will significantly improve the quality of medical services for the population in the regions. Investors are attracted to build such hospitals under the terms of public-private partnership.

The Head of State also got acquainted with the work of day hospitals in the city of Karakol (50 beds) and in the village of Teploklyuchenka, Ak-Suu region (28 beds).

According to the State Secretary of the Ministry of Health, up to 400 people apply to the Karakol hospital for medical help and medical advice every day.

The day care hospital in the village of Teploklyuchenka was opened in July, to date, more than a thousand people have received the necessary medical care here.

President Sooronbai Jeenbekov once again noted that the opening of such facilities is of great help in providing timely medical care to residents of the regions. However, by the autumn-winter period, the Government and local authorities should carry out preparatory work at the proper level.

In the Ak-Suu region, the President also visited the Family Medicine Center. The new building of the Family Medicine Center was commissioned in July of this year; the Center serves more than 60 thousand residents from all over the region.

After reviewing the activities of the Family Medicine Center, Sooronbai Zheenbekov noted the importance of introducing digitalization, urged the management and medical staff of the Center to speed up this process. Here, the Head of State talked with the labor collective, as well as volunteers who are helping local doctors in the fight against coronavirus infection.
