Acting President and Prime Minister Sadyr Zhaparov took part in memorial events at the «Ata-Beyit» memorial complex

Acting President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Prime Minister Sadyr Zhaparov today, on November 7, on the Days of History and Memory of Ancestors, visited the National Historical and Memorial Complex "Ata-Beyit".

The event was also attended by Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh Talant Mamytov, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Gulbara Kaliyeva, ex-presidents Roza Otunbayeva and Sooronbai Zheenbekov, Chief of Staff of the President Suinbek Kasmambetov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Taalaibek Omuraliev.

Participants of the event laid flowers at the Memorial to the victims of the tragic events of 1916, the memorial to the victims of political repression, the grave of the writer Chyngyz Aitmatov and the Memorial to the heroes of the April 2010 people's revolution.

A memorial prayer was read.

The acting President recalled that the victims of political repression in 1920-1950. in Kyrgyzstan, there are about 40 thousand people whose burial places are still unknown.

Sadyr Zhaparov noted the heroism of Bubuira Kydyralieva, an employee of the National Security Agencies Bolot Abdrakhmanov and archaeologist Mikhail Moskalev, thanks to which the public became aware of the secret and mass burial of 138 repressed near the village of Chon-Tash.

As noted by the acting President, these people deserve the highest state awards, including Moskalev posthumously. Now the Ata-Beyit complex is located on the burial site.

He added that in the modern history of Kyrgyzstan, as a result of popular unrest, power was changed three times. The reasons for the events of October 5, 2020, Sadyr Zhaparov called people's intolerance to corruption.

Acting President noted that now an irreconcilable struggle against it has been declared, which will be conducted with reliance on the public. The prevailing electoral psychology of bribery of the electorate will be eliminated. Sadyr Zhaparov noted the need to rely on one's own forces in improving the well-being of the people and the country's economy.

The commemorative events ended with a visit to the Taazim Historical and Memorial Museum.
