According to the latest data of the KR National Statistical Committee (NSC), in January-April 2018 the trade turnover between the KR and the UK totalled $ 183.5 million (hereinafter USD) and compared with the same period in 2017 (3.8 million USD) increased by 47.0%, incl. exports amounted to 180.2 million USD and increased by 180.0%, and imports - 3.3 million USD, a decrease of 113.8%.

The share of the UK in the external commodity turnover of the KR for January-April 2018 is 8.5%, and for the same period in 2017 it was 0.2%.

At the same time, according to the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic, in January-April 2018, the UK topped the list of major exporting countries to the KR from non-CIS countries with 34.0% of total exports (gold - by $ 178.1). For the 1-quarter of 2018 (as of June 19, 1818), the volume of investments from the UK in the KR amounted to 6,152.7 thousand USD, a decrease of 27.1%. Nevertheless, according to the National Statistical Committee of the KR, the UK remains among the main investor countries in the KR, along with countries such as Canada, China, Kazakhstan and the Netherlands.

In order to promote investment and tourism cooperation, on June 28, 2018, the third Kyrgyz-British investment forum took place over the past three years on the theme: “The Kyrgyz Republic is emerging market in Central Asia”.

Between February 26 and March 1, 2018, the British side organized the second UK Trade Mission to Kyrgyzstan, composed of representatives of British business circle to study investment opportunities in the Kyrgyz Republic

From February 27 to March 1, 2017, the first British trade mission headed by N.Peters, Director of consulting firm “British Expertise” visited the Kyrgyz Republic. The trade mission included 15 British companies that represent different sectors, including education, infrastructure, tourism and consulting. Representatives of the company, which sells equipment in the field of mining industry also joined the mission.
