January 26, 2021, at the initiative of the Bengali side, a meeting was held between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Uzbekistan Ibragim Dzhunusov with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of Bangladesh to the Kyrgyz Republic with his residence in Tashkent, Zhahangir Alam.

During the past courtesy visit, the ambassadors discussed the current state and prospects for further strengthening Kyrgyz-Bangladeshi relations, as well as further expanding trade, economic and investment ties by increasing the volume of bilateral trade, as well as implementing joint projects in the agriculture, textile industry and tourism.

The parties noted the need to deepen interaction in the spheres of culture and education, in particular, within the twin cities of the two countries. The parties expressed their readiness to implement specific projects in these areas.

Ibrahim Dzhunusov congratulated Zhahangir Alam on his appointment and wished him success in his work, while emphasizing the importance of developing and strengthening multifaceted ties between our countries.

Zhahangir Alam congratulated the people of Kyrgyzstan on the successful elections of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and the referendum, at the same time stressed that Bangladesh attaches particular importance to further strengthening cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.

During the talks, other issues of mutual interest were also considered.
