Тhe Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the People’s Republic of China Kanaiym Baktygulova held video conference with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress of China Zhang Yesui

In November 12, 2020 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the People’s Republic of China Kanaiym Baktygulova held video conference with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress of China Zhang Yesui. During the talk, Ambassador K.Baktygulova noticed continuation by the Kyrgyz Republic democratic reforms, strengthening the rule of law, protection and promotion of human rights.

Kyrgyz side informed that on October 24, 2020, the Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic, in accordance with the state’s legislation and following consultations of all political forces, decided to hold early Presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan on January 10, 2021. Currently, pre-election work is underway in the Kyrgyz Republic and candidates are being registered.

She noted the participation of acting President and Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic S.Zhaparov together with Chinese President Xi Jinping and other heads of Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states attended the meeting of the SCO Council of heads of states (November 10), which was held under the chairmanship of the Russian side by the video conference.

K.Baktygulova underlined that the Kyrgyz Republic continues intensive negotiations and meetings aimed to fully resuming and further enhancing cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and its foreign partners, including the People’s Republic of China.

In turn, Zhang Yesui thanked the Kyrgyz side for providing information on the stabilization of the internal political situation in the Kyrgyz Republic. He noted that the Chinese side continues to closely monitor the socio-political processes in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The parties also discussed issues related to the settlement of state debt, inter-party and inter-parliamentary cooperation, including through parliamentary friendship groups, and the joint fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
