Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliev took part in the 16th Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism Conference

On July 28-29, 2021, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliev took part in the 16th Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism Conference organized by the International Ecotourism Society (TIES) and WorkshopTravelshop in Tokat, Turkey.

At the opening event, Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev was as speaker and during which he made a presentation on the state and potential of tourism, incl. ecotourism in Kyrgyzstan with a video demonstration. Ambassador Omuraliev noted such activities of ecotourism as cycling, mountain hiking, skiing, "jailoo-tourism", kumis therapy, etc. At the same time, he drew the attention to the assessments of international experts, including recognition by world-famous mass media and agencies, which in 2019, 2020 and 2021, included Kyrgyzstan in the top 10 countries for travel.

Having invited the conference participants to Kyrgyzstan, Ambassador Omuraliev expressed his readiness to assist in establishing contacts between travel agencies of the two countries.

Representatives of travel agencies from Turkey, the USA, India, Pakistan, Iran and other countries have expressed interest in organizing tours to our country.

Noting the great potential of ecotourism and the conditions for doing business, Ambassador Omuraliev urged business circles to invest in tourism.

As part of the event, the Ambassador met with the Governor of Tokat Ozan Balci, Mayor of Tokat city Eyup Eroglu, Executive Director of the International Ecotourism Society (TIES) John Bruno, Head of Workshop Travelshop Murtaza Kalender, President of the Dedeman Hotel Chain Banu Dedeman, representatives of travel companies and Ambassadors of foreign states.

Also, B2B meetings were held with tour operators from different countries, where information was provided, brochures and booklets were distributed.
