The Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Pakistan Ulanbek Totuiaev took part in an international conference "Pakistan-Eurasian Heartland Connectivity: Towards Socio-Economic, Academic and Legal Cooperation"

On September 21, 2021, as part of a working visit to Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Pakistan H.E. Mr. Ulanbek Totuiaev took part in an international conference "Pakistan-Eurasian Heartland Connectivity: Towards Socio-Economic, Academic and Legal Cooperation", organized by the Area Study Center (Russia, China and Central Asia) University of Peshawar and the Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS).

As Honorary Participants of the conference, the Ambassadors of the countries of Central Asia and the Republic of Belarus, as well as the expert community of Pakistan, delivered speeches.

The main goal of the conference was to promote closer cooperation and interaction between the countries of Eurasia and South Asia by stimulating regional trade, creating joint cultural and educational programs, studying the legislation of countries to assist investors, as well as developing tourism.

In his speech, Ambassador U. Totuiaev noted that the South Asian region is closely linked with Central Asia by a common history and culture, emphasizing the fact that today the geostrategic position of Kyrgyzstan is at the crossroads between Central Asia and China and further through the Karakorum pass to Pakistan opens up excellent opportunities for regional trade and economic cooperation and the establishment of ties in all areas of mutual interest. The Ambassador also noted the readiness of the Kyrgyz Republic to fully support the development of multilateral cooperation within Eurasia and South Asia.

Within the framework of the conference, the participants discussed the situation in Afghanistan in the context of regional security issues.
