A meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic was held with the participation of Mr. Arzybek Kozhoshev, First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic

A meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic with the participation of Mr. Arzybek Kozhoshev, First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, to summarize the foreign service activity in 2021 was held on February 8, 2022 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Summing up the results of 2021, Mr. Ruslan Kazakbaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, highlighted main achievements of the diplomatic service of the Kyrgyz Republic during implementation of the three Anti-Crisis Plans of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic (from October 20, 2020, to January 10, 2022) approved by Mr. Sadyr Zhaparov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic. These Plans were aimed at the implementation of measures in the political and economic spheres, stabilization of the epidemiological situation and attracting humanitarian and technical aid for the Kyrgyz Republic, protection of the rights and interests of our citizens abroad.

Minister Kazakbaev singled out as the main result of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic strengthening of the political dialogue and strategic partnership with leading allies and partners, as well as achieving specific agreements for bilateral cooperation.

First Deputy Chairman Kozhoshev emphasized the need to create favorable external conditions for sustainable and stable development of Kyrgyzstan, to improve the quality and standards of living, to maintain and develop international political contacts, to expand relations on security matters, foreign economic, military-technical, cultural, humanitarian, scientific and technical aspects of cooperation.

Participants of the meeting in general stated that during the implementation of Anti-Crisis Plans of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic in 2021, 1729 events were held, including more than 130 visits and foreign policy events at the highest, high and working levels. Among those 13 state, official and working visits of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic; 17 visits of foreign delegations to Kyrgyzstan; 52 visits of Kyrgyz to foreign countries. 95 bilateral and 839 multilateral international documents (934 in total), both of interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental character, were prepared for signing.

The work of the structural departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and foreign missions of the Kyrgyz Republic was evaluated during the meeting and the priority tasks for the medium-term for the Ministry were discussed.

Strengthening economic diplomacy, assistance in attracting investment, promotion of domestic exports and tourist potential, creation of favorable foreign policy conditions for the development of the country, protection of rights and interests of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic living abroad were considered as a main focus of foreign service of the Kyrgyz Republic.
