Today on March 2, 2022, Ruslan Kazakbaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, held the meeting with Mr. Abdulla bin Touq Al-Marri, Minister of Economy of the UAE, during his official visit to the United Arab Emirates that began on March 1, 2022.

During the conversation, the parties discussed topical issues of the further expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and UAE, as well as practical implementation of a number of joint activities in this area, in particular, the implementation of projects in the hotel business, resort and recreation field, agriculture, energy, tourism and a number of other areas.

At the same time, the Kyrgyz side noted the need for the early conduct of the 2nd meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Emirati Commission, formation of the Kyrgyz-Emirati Business Council and launching its work to mobilize these important mechanisms for expanding trade and economic cooperation by holding regular mutual visits of business delegations, business forums, fairs, expert meetings within the framework of the Business Council of the Kyrgyz Republic and UAE, intensification of the work of the joint Working Expert Group on the Intergovernmental Accelerator.

The separate topic of conversation between the parties was the issue of establishing the Kyrgyz-Emirati Investment Fund (KEIF) while noting positive experience of creation of the Kyrgyz-Russian, Kyrgyz-Uzbek, Kyrgyz-Hungarian investment funds. Taking into account the high level of relations between the two countries, Minister R.Kazakbaev, taking in account the high level of relations between two states, suggested making all efforts of the parties to early establishment of the KEIF. The Emirati side expressed keen interest in establishing the joint investment fund and proposed to include this important issue on the agenda for the next joint actions at the senior experts and high levels.

Minister R.Kazakbaev expressed interest of the Kyrgyz side in attracting and using the rich experience of the Emirati side in reforming public administration, digitalization, healthcare, introducing the foundations of the green economy, in the fight against corruption, as well as in the field of countering international terrorism.

Endorsing the view of the Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan on the need to develop trade and economic turnover and cooperation between the two countries, Minister of Economy of the UAE expressed his readiness to consider the investment projects of the Kyrgyz side that were handed to him during the meeting. R.Kazakbaev, in his turn, invited his interlocutor to visit Kyrgyzstan.

The parties agreed to maintain close working contacts for the practical implementation of those areas of cooperation which are of mutual interest. At the end of the meeting, Minister R. Kazakbaev invited the UAE Minister of Economy Abdulla bin Touq Al-Marri to visit Kyrgyzstan in the near future with a group of experts on reforms, transfer of experience and advanced technologies, as well as with the UAE business delegation.
