Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov

On December 8, 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov in Tashkent as part of participation in the Second ministerial meeting of the cooperation format «Central Asia+Italy».

During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues on the bilateral agenda in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, checked the hours for upcoming foreign policy events, visits at the highest and high levels, and also exchanged views on international and regional issues.

The parties noted the successful political events in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan and agreed on the need to intensify relevant measures to implement previously reached agreements at the level of the heads of state of the two countries in March 2021.

In addition, the interlocutors expressed interest in accelerating the practical work of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund, the implementation of priority investment projects within the framework of the Fund for the construction of a trade and logistics center in Kyzyl-Kiya and the Daraot-Korgon-Uch-Korgon highway connecting this center with the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan multimodal transport corridor, as well as in the early implementation of the Action Plan ("Roadmap") to expand and deepen cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of industrial cooperation, involving the implementation of about 60 joint projects.

Noting the importance of mutual support for the initiatives of the parties within the framework of multilateral formats, the Kyrgyz side voiced a request to support the initiative of the Kyrgyz Republic to adopt a draft resolution of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly on declaring 2022 the "International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development".
