Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbek Kulubaev met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of India Subrahmanyam Jaishankar

On May 5, 2023, on the sidelines of the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the SCO member countries in Panaji, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Zheenbek Kulubaev met with the Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India Mr. Subramanyam Jaishankar.

During the talks, the heads of the foreign ministries of the two countries discussed a wide range of issues on the agenda of the Kyrgyz-Indian cooperation, identified priority areas for effective cooperation both in bilateral and multilateral formats. Both parties showed up the interest to further develop active cooperation in the political, trade, economic, military-technical, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Minister Zh.Kulubaev, outlining the main areas of bilateral cooperation in the field of pharmaceuticals, agriculture, medical tourism, training Indian students in Kyrgyzstan, also stressed the importance of developing new areas of Kyrgyz-Indian cooperation in the field of interbank cooperation, implementing grant projects, a credit line, opening full-fledged representative offices of Indian hospitals in Kyrgyzstan, etc.

The Ministers paid special attention to preparations for the upcoming visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to India to participate in the meeting of the Council of Heads of SCO Member States on July 3-4, 2023 in New Delhi.

The parties also discussed issues of regional security, and also stressed the need for close interaction and information exchange in order to counter regional threats and challenges.
