On January 26, 2023, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Türkiye Ruslan Kazakbaev met with Head of the Cubuk Municipality of Ankara Baki Demirbas.

In order to expand trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, the parties agreed to establish sister city relations between Cubuk and one of the cities of Kyrgyzstan.

As part of the partnership of sister cities, the head of the Kyrgyz diplomatic mission drew attention to the importance of implementing joint social projects, especially in the construction of schools, kindergartens, and hospitals, as well as industries for the development of small and medium enterprise.

In addition, Ambassador Kazakbaev noted the merits of Mayor Demirbas in popularizing prominent representatives of the Turkic world in Türkiye and expressed gratitude for the opening of the Kurmanjan Datka park in Cubuk. He also expressed appreciation for the constant attention and care for the ethnic Kyrgyz living in Cubuk.
