On March 13, 2023, Ruslan Kazakbaev met with the Deputy of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, the Head of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group “Kyrgyzstan-Türkiye” Sabri Öztürk.

During the meeting, a wide range of issues of bilateral political, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the countries, plans for further expansion and deepening of inter-parliamentary relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Türkiye, as well as interaction within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States were discussed.

Ambassador Kazakbaev outlined the need for the earliest possible resumption of the implementation of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Health and Medical Sciences, which provides for the annual free treatment of 150 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in medical institutions in Türkiye and expressed a request to assist in expanding the provided quota to 500 people per year.

The importance of the early establishment of a bilateral Kyrgyz-Turkish Development Fund for further strengthening cooperation between the countries in the trade and economic sphere, as well as the initiative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to exchange the country's external debt for the implementation of green initiatives were discussed.

As a result of the meeting, agreements were reached on holding joint events in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, including through organizing exhibitions of artists from Kyrgyzstan in Türkiye.
