The meeting of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Uzbekistan Ibrahim Dzhunusov with the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kozimdzhan Kamilov took place.

At the meeting, I. Dzhunusov informed about the large-scale judicial and legal reform carried out in the Kyrgyz Republic, its goals, main tasks, current results and prospects. He told about cardinal innovations that came into force on January 1 of this year in criminal, administrative, criminal procedure and criminal-executive legislation, which marked a departure from the former judicial-legal system that had more repressive character. Noted the plan work on the transition to digitalization in the activities of domestic courts. In turn, K. Kamilov presented information on the course of reforming the judicial system of Uzbekistan.

The parties also discussed issues of interaction between the Supreme Courts of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan. At the same time, they noted with satisfaction the active cooperation in the framework of the CIS and the SCO, as well as the contacts at the sites of conferences, round tables and other international events. We agreed that in the conditions of dynamic changes in the region and large-scale judicial reforms in our countries, it is necessary to strive for closer interaction.

I. Dzhunusov assured that the Embassy will maintain working contacts with the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan and provide all possible assistance in further deepening cooperation between the judicial bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
