The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Austria and the Kyrgyz diaspora in the Czech Republic celebrated the 30th anniversary of the State Independence of Kyrgyzstan with the participation of our compatriots from Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Germany, Ireland

On August 28, 2021 in Prague, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Austria and the Kyrgyz diaspora in the Czech Republic celebrated the 30th anniversary of the State Independence of Kyrgyzstan with the participation of our compatriots from Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Germany, Ireland.

In welcoming speech of the H.E. Ambassador Mr. Tolend Makeyev congratulated the participants and guests on this significant date, noted the importance of preserving the distinctive national culture and native language, and called on the Kyrgyz people working and studying abroad to contribute to the development of sovereign Kyrgyzstan. Those present were also informed about the work of the Embassy to protect the interests and rights of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in their host countries.

During the celebration, A. Temirov, N. Dzhumashukurov, A. Akmataliev, G. Babayarov and D. Bektursunov were awarded letters of thanks to the Torag of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic T. Mamytov for active public work and contribution to strengthening the unity of compatriots abroad, as well as for help during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020

The event was accompanied by a varied cultural program. The guests were presented with the traditions of the Kyrgyz people, such as the ritual of first swaddling and putting the child in the cradle (beshik), cutting the fetters (tushoо kesүү), as well as a concert of amateur performances.

As part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the State Independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, a football tournament was held with the participation of teams from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Germany, which ended with the victory of the national team of the city of Prague.

The main attraction of the holiday was a Kyrgyz yurt (boz uy) with a rich interior decoration, where an exhibition and sale of national souvenirs and felt products were organized.

For reference: The largest number of our compatriots among the countries of Central and Eastern Europe live in the Czech Republic. They created a public association "Ala-Too", which operates under the motto "Alystagy zhakynyk" (relatives in the distance). The Czech Republic, along with Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia is included in the countries of additional accreditation of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Austria.
