On March 2, 2022,  Ruslan Kazakbaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, met in Abu Dhabi with Mr. Suhail Al-Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE.

During the conversation, the parties discussed current issues of further development and strengthening of trade, economic and investment cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the UAE, the implementation of the Kyrgyz-Emirati agreements, agenda and content of the upcoming Kyrgyz-Emirati meetings at the highest and high levels.

R.Kazakbaev emphasized the relevance of the implementation of the Kyrgyz-Emirati projects and agreements following the visit of the Emirati business delegation to the Kyrgyz Republic on September 1-3, 2021, headed by Mr. Suhail Al-Mazrouei. At the same time, R.Kazakbaev called on the Emirati side to expand investments in the economy of our country and invited it to actively participate in projects in the field of agriculture, processing of agricultural products, renewable energy, construction of small and medium-sized hydropower plants, hotel business and tourism, development of the "green" economy in Kyrgyzstan. The Kyrgyz side also noted the importance of opening new air routes.

The Kyrgyz side noted the need to intensify the activities of the Business Council of the Kyrgyz Republic-UAE. It was also proposed to create a joint Investment Fund for the implementation of joint projects in Kyrgyzstan. At the same time, it was highlighted that there are similar funds with other countries.

Minister R.Kazakbaev proposed to consider the possibility of organizing and conducting by Emirati experts of education, training and exchange of experience for Kyrgyz specialists in the areas of preparation of investment projects, digitalization of public services, healthcare reform, combating corruption and terrorism. In turn, the Emirati side, supporting this proposal, also offered to jointly work in this direction within the framework of the joint Working Expert Group of the Kyrgyz Republic and the UAE on cooperation, created in accordance with the Memorandum between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the UAE on mutual understanding in the field of institutional development and capacity building” signed by the parties.

The parties also discussed the current development of the international situation in the world, including the events in Ukraine.

The parties agreed to maintain close working contacts for the purpose of operational interaction and timely resolution of issues related to further expansion and strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
