On June 27, 2022 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Zheenbek Kulubaev received the Special Representative of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Afghanistan Mr. Hassan Kazemi Qumi, who is currently in Bishkek with official visit.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on development of the situation in Afghanistan and the ways to settle the Afghan problem.

Minister Zh. Kulubaev noted the importance of interaction with the Afghan government in order to prevent further escalation of tension in this country, which could negatively affect regional security issues.

At the same time, according to the view of the Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan, it is necessary to effectively use the existing mechanisms of regional cooperation, including the SCO, and continue searching for new ones in order to put Afghanistan on the path of peaceful and sustainable development.

In conclusion, the parties agreed to continue the political dialogue in this direction in order to provide maximum support to the Afghan people to build peaceful and stable Afghanistan.
