Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliev made a speech at the Kyrgyz-Turkish Business Development Forum in Karaman, Turkey

On January 20, 2020 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Emil Toktoshev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in Chui Region Altynbek Namazaliev and representatives of business community from Kyrgyzstan participated and made a speech at the Kyrgyz-Turkish Business Development Forum in Karaman, Turkey.

Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev made presentations on the investment and tourism potential of the Kyrgyz Republic, in particular, there was presented information on priority sectors of the economy, on the main types of taxes, on preferential regimes for goods exported to the EAEU, the EU and the USA, regarding the time for opening a business and doing business, on main trade and economic partners of the Kyrgyz Republic, etc. There was also presented a short promo video about the country.

Deputy Emil Toktoshev noted the unity of the language, history, and religion of the Kyrgyz and Turkish peoples. He said that legislative conditions for investors are being created in Kyrgyzstan and noted that in January of 2020 Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic ratified the Agreement with Turkey on the Promotion and Protection of Investments, signed on April 9, 2018.

The plenipotentiary representative of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Chui region Altynbek Namazaliev made a presentation on the Chui region, as well as its investment potential and major sectors of the economy. He invited Turkish businessmen to invest in sectors such as agriculture, food, processing and mining, etc. He expressed his readiness to share the necessary information on investment projects and to assist investors.

The event was attended by more than 95 businessmen, including representatives of 18 companies from Kyrgyzstan and representatives of the FEZ “Bishkek”, as well as deputies of parliaments, representatives of business organizations and local self-government of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. Kyrgyz companies in the field of processing industry, tourism, construction, energy and other sectors made presentations about their activities and products, as well as B2B meetings with Turkish entrepreneurs, during which they reached specific agreements. Turkish companies expressed interest in opening an enterprise for processing agricultural products, manufacturing footwear, processing ceramics, exchanging experience in the energy sector, etc.

Deputies of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Rezhep Sheker and Selman Oguzhan Eser, Governor of Karaman Province Fahri Meral, Chairman of the CCI of Karaman Mustafa Gokhan Alkan, Representative of the Society of Independent Industrialists and Businessmen MÜSİAD Ibrahim Tashbash made a speech from the Turkish side, as well as Turkish companies of light industry, agriculture, energy, etc. Turkish businessmen presented information about their activities and products.
