Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Japan Mirlan Arstanbaev met with the Director General of the National Institute of Infectious Diseases of Japan, Mr. Takaji Wakita

On March 13, 2020, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Japan Mirlan Arstanbaev met with the Director General of the National Institute of Infectious Diseases of Japan, Mr. Takaji Wakita.

During the meeting, the Director-General informed in detail about the current situation and measures to prevent the spread of infection (COVID-2019) / coronavirus in Japan.

With the assistance of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Japan, working contacts were established between the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic and the National Institute of Infectious Diseases of Japan.

As a result of the negotiations, the Japanese side provided 2000 tests for the detection of coronavirus at no cost. On March 17,2020, this assistance was delivered to the Kyrgyz Republic and transferred to the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.

As an outcome of the meeting, the parties expressed the mutual interest in developing  bilateral cooperation.
