Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov met with the Director-General of the UN Office in Geneva

On October 8, 2019 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Aidarbekov met with the Director-General of the UN Office in Geneva Ms. Tatiana Valovaya.

Foreign Minister Mr.Aidarbekov extended his congratulations to Ms. Valovaya on her appointment to this position and discussed some important issues of cooperation within the framework of the current UN agenda and the work of the UN Office in Geneva.  

Foreign Minister Mr.Aidarbekov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is a responsible and active member of international community promoting various initiatives focused on tackling the existing problems in the world. It was noted that Kyrgyzstan gives priority to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which are also the key issues on the agenda of the UN Geneva Office.

In this regard, Foreign Minister Mr.Aidarbekov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is interested in strengthening the cooperation in promoting the SDGs, as well as in addressing the contemporary security challenges facing the international community.

They also discussed the further cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the UN Geneva Office, particularly on the platform of the Human Rights Council and the UN Conference on Disarmament.
