September 24, 2021, on the sidelines of the 76^th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ruslan Kazakbaev met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla.

The parties positively noted the history of Kyrgyz-Cuban relations, and also confirmed their readiness to further intensify them. To achieve this goal, Minister Kazakbaev submitted a number of draft cooperation agreements for consideration by the Cuban side.

The parties also noted the importance of building up trade relations between the countries, taking into account the entry of Cuba into the EAEU as an observer state.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the plans to jointly celebrate in 2022 the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries and to develop a roadmap for their further strengthening.
