Negotiations were held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbek Kulubaev and the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić in narrow and expanded formats

On April 6, 2023, negotiations were held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Zheenbek Kulubaev and the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić in narrow and expanded formats.  

During the negotiations in an expanded format, the parties discussed the current state of the Kyrgyz-Serbian cooperation, identified further steps to strengthen it. The parties noted the need to expand political cooperation through the organization of high-level mutual visits, the resumption of bilateral political consultations and close interaction within international organizations.

Particular attention was paid to the issues of strengthening practical cooperation in the trade and economic sphere. In particular, Minister Kulubaev outlined promising areas of joint cooperation - agriculture, tourism, hydropower, automotive and processing industries, information and communication technologies, the transition to a "green economy", and others.

For his part, Ivica Dačić noted that Kyrgyzstan and Serbia are friendly countries, and also emphasized the need to move to practical cooperation in various areas of mutual interest, including political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas.

The heads of the Foreign ministries noted with pleasure the existence of a visa-free regime between the two countries, which creates favorable conditions for free mutual travel of citizens and the development of tourism in both countries.

At the same time, the parties also discussed the regional agenda, outlined the existing threats and challenges.

As a result of bilateral negotiations, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and Serbia made statements to the press and signed the Program of Cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of Kyrgyzstan and Serbia and the Memorandum of Understanding between the Diplomatic Academy of the MFA of the Kyrgyz Republic named after Kazy Dikambaev and the Diplomatic Academy of the MFA of Serbia.

In order to continue the bilateral dialogue, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić invited Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev to pay an official visit to the Republic of Serbia.
