Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN Aida Kasymalieva took part in the Briefing hosted by the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism, its UNCCT and the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia

On July 20, 2022, Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN Aida Kasymalieva took part in the Briefing hosted by the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism, its UNCCT and the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia.

The briefing is intended to present the important work that is being implemented in Central Asia and provide an opportunity to discuss new initiatives for cooperation and to explore possibilities to promote fundraising for activities in counter-terrorism and prevention of violent extremism in the Central Asian region.

Aida Kasymalieva highlighted the importance of effective implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy, which is a unique global document to strengthen national, regional and international efforts to counter terrorism, as well as the implementation of the updated Joint Action Plan for Central Asia. In this regard, it was noted the readiness of the Kyrgyzstan to work in close coordination with the UN agencies on the implementation of the Joint Plan.
