Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN Mirgul Moldoi-saeva took part in the online Event in framework of ECOSOC Financing for Development Forum entitled “Financing a Sustainable Recovery from COVID-19”

On June 2, 2020 Permanent Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN Mirgul Moldoisaeva took part in the online Event in framework of ECOSOC Financing for Development Forum entitled “Financing a Sustainable Recovery from COVID-19” as one of the key speakers. The event was arranged by ECOSOC Secretariat in support of discussion of concrete financial solutions to combat COVID-19 epidemics in framework of Addis Ababa Action Agenda with aim at needs of Member States in special situations.

President of ECOSOC - Permanent Representative of Norway to UN Mona Juul, Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammad, Under Secretary-General for Social and Economic Development Liu Zhenmin, representative of International Monetary Fund, World Bank, UN Office of Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance, European Commission, African Development Bank and Permanent Representatives of Member States to UN attended this Event.  

In her statement Permanent Representative of Kyrgyzstan Mirgul Moldoisaeva mentioned the importance of participation of H.E. Mr. Sooronbai Zheenbekov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, in the High-level Event on Financing for Development in the Era of COVID-19 and Beyond on May 28, 2020. Also she mentioned the importance to continue active financing and technical assistance of the UN and other international organisations in order to overcome COVID-19 and its socio-economic consequences. The effectiveness of this assistance will increase if measures of lowering debt vulnerability to be implemented through incorporation of new and implementation of current mechanisms of external debt optimisation, and combating with illicit financial flows.
