State Secretary of the Kyrgyz Republic Suyunbek Kasmambetov Visited Chicago on a Working Visit

On May 22, 2024, State Secretary of the Kyrgyz Republic Suyunbek Kasmambetov made a working visit to the city of Chicago, during which he held a series of meetings and events aimed at strengthening ties with the Kyrgyz diaspora and promoting the culture of Kyrgyzstan abroad.

During the visit, Suyunbek Kasmambetov visited the Consulate General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Chicago, where he met with the staff and discussed current issues regarding the consulate’s activities.

A significant event of the trip was the State Secretary’s participation in the grand opening of the Kyrgyz Art Academy "Kyrg Demy," a new initiative aimed at popularizing Kyrgyz art and culture. In his welcoming speech, Suyunbek Kasmambetov emphasized the importance of such projects for preserving cultural heritage and educating the new generation of Kyrgyz people in the spirit of respect for their roots.

Additionally, the State Secretary visited the kyrgyz ethnocultural exhibition, which featured traditional crafts, national costumes, and works of art, as well as Kyrgyz language and national dance classes, which were established at the Kyrgyz Community Center.

At the end of the visit, Suyunbek Kasmambetov held a meeting with leaders and activists of the Kyrgyz diaspora in Chicago. During the discussion, issues of interaction with compatriots and support for cultural and educational initiatives were discussed.
